【INTRODUCTION】
Viral hepatitis is a systemic disease primarily involving the liver. Most cases of acute viral hepatitis are caused by Hepatitis A virus (HAV), Hepatitis B virus (HBV) or Hepatitis C virus (HCV). Hepatitis B e antibody is a protein secreted by HBV-infected cells.
Hepatitis B envelop Antibody(HBeAb) is also known as anti-Hepatitis B envelop Antigen( anti-HBe). The hepatitis B envelope antibody (HBeAb) is produced by your immune system after infection by the hepatitis B virus, and it can persist for life. The presence of antibody against hepatitis B viral e antigen is used as an indicator for early HBs antigenemia before the peak of viral replication and early convalescence when HBeAg has declined below detectable levels.

【TEST KIT PRINCIPLE】
Colloidal gold chromatographic immunoassay method. During testing, the mixture migrates upward on the membrane chromatographically by capillary action. The membrane is pre-coated with HBeAg on the test line region of the strip. During testing, anti-HBe antibody, if present in the specimen, will compete with particle coated anti-HBe antibody for limited amount of HBeAg on the membrane, and no line will form in the test line region, indicating a positive result. A visible colored line will form in the test line region if there is no anti-HBe antibody in the specimen because all the antibody coated particles will be captured by the antigen coated in the test line region. To serve as a procedural control, a colored line will always appear in the control line region indicating that proper volume of specimen has been added and membrane wicking has occurred.

【OPERATION DIRECTION】
Bring tests, specimens, and/or controls toroomtemperature (15-30°C) before use.
1. Remove the test from its sealed pouch, andplaceitonaclean, level surface. Label the cassette with patient orcontrolidentification. For best results, the assay shouldbeperformedwithin one hour.
2. Using the provided disposable pipette, transfer 2 drops of serum or plasma specimen to each specimen well (S) of the cassette and start the timer.
Avoid trapping air bubbles in the specimen well (S), and do not add any solution to the result window.
As the test begins to work, color will migrate across the membrane.
3. Wait for the colored band(s) to appear. The result should be read at 15 minutes. Do not interpret the result after 20 minutes.
【HBeAb TEST RESULT INTERPRETATION】
NEGATIVE RESULT:
If only the C line develops, the result is negative or non-reactive.
POSITIVE RESULT:
If both the C and the T lines develop, the result is positive or reactive.
INVALID:
If no C line develops, the assay is invalid regardless of any color development on the T line as indicated below. Repeat the assay with a new device.
【STORAGE AND STABILITY】
The kit should be stored at 2-30°C until the expiry date is printed on the sealed pouch.
The test must remain in the sealed pouch until use.
Keep away from direct sunlight, moisture and heat. Do not freeze.
Care should be taken to protect the components of the kit from contamination. Do not use it if there is evidence of microbial contamination or precipitation. Biological contamination of dispensing equipment, containers, or reagents can lead to false results.
